Caernarvon Township, Berks County – Authorities in Pennsylvania have identified and located the man believed to be responsible for a fatal shooting on Friday along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. State police revealed this information Monday evening, reporting that the 59-year-old suspect from North Dinwiddie, Virginia, succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a shopping complex parking lot in Caernarvon Township, Berks County on Saturday morning.
According to the police, the violent incident, described as a “road-rage type incident,” resulted in the shooting of a 40-year-old man from Royersford, Pennsylvania. The attack occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-76, between Morgantown and Bowmansville around 1:15 p.m. The victim unfortunately lost his life on Monday at Reading Hospital, as confirmed by the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities indicated that following the shooting, they identified a white tractor-trailer as a vehicle of interest in connection with the homicide. By Saturday morning, the tractor-trailer in question had been located. Both the shooter and his victim remain unidentified at this time.
