Shooter Calls 911 and Stays at Scene After Fatal Altercation Outside Longmont Bar

Longmont, Colorado – In a tragic incident outside a Longmont bar, a man lost his life early Friday morning after being shot during an altercation. The dispute occurred after two men left the Speakeasy Bar on Main Street, leading to a violent confrontation resulting in a fatality.

Responding to a report of a verbal and physical altercation, Longmont Police arrived at the scene at 301 Main St around 12:30 a.m. where the shooting took place. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Johnston by the Boulder County coroner, succumbed to his injuries sustained during the altercation.

The suspected shooter took the initiative to call 911 immediately after the incident and cooperated with authorities by remaining at the scene until their arrival. As the investigation into the shooting continues, no arrests have been made thus far, leaving the community seeking answers and justice for the untimely death of Johnston.

Authorities are urging anyone who was present at the Speakeasy between 9 p.m. on March 28 and 12:30 a.m. on March 29 and has not yet spoken to the police to come forward with any information or potential evidence.
