Los Angeles, California – A tragic incident unfolded in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where three individuals lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries during a chaotic late-night shooting at an unsanctioned car show. The violence erupted on the evening of March 21 at a park in Las Cruces, approximately 120km south of Albuquerque, drawing around 200 attendees to the event filled with races and automotive stunts.
Las Cruces Police Chief Jeremy Story disclosed that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two groups, quickly escalating into a gun battle between them. The event, marred by illegal activities involving vehicles and the presence of firearms, resulted in numerous casualties caught in the crossfire. The investigation revealed a preexisting animosity between the feuding parties before the tragic events of March 21 transpired.
Among the 15 wounded victims, aged between 16 and 36, seven required transportation to El Paso, Texas hospitals for advanced medical care, as confirmed by Fire Chief Michael Daniels.
