Shooting in Saginaw: Police Seek Help in 10th Murder Investigation

SAGINAW, Mich. – The Saginaw Police Department is currently investigating the 10th murder of the year, seeking assistance from the public to identify the individual responsible for the fatal shooting. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 16 in the business district of Old Town Saginaw.

According to authorities, two Saginaw police officers were on duty in response to reports of disorderly crowds when they heard gunshots in the vicinity. Upon investigating, officers discovered 25-year-old Daquan Mims, a Saginaw resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Mims tragically succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.

In addition to Mims, another victim from the same shooting incident, a 24-year-old individual, also sought medical attention for a minor wound. Police have spoken with several witnesses and have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, but as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Authorities have highlighted that there were numerous individuals present at the scene of the crime during the shooting, emphasizing the importance of community assistance in identifying the suspect.
