Shooting Incident at Yakima Intersection Leaves Police Searching for Suspect

YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the busy intersection of East Nob Hill Boulevard and South 1st Street on Monday. According to Yvette Inzunza from the YPD, officers responded to reports of an active shooting at the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered a car crash and multiple spent handgun casings on the ground.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that two vehicles were involved in a confrontation that escalated, resulting in one vehicle chasing the other along Nob Hill Boulevard. The leading vehicle ultimately collided with a curb, leaving it disabled in the middle of the road. Allegedly, the driver of the disabled vehicle then exited and fired shots at the pursuing vehicle, which subsequently fled the scene and could not be located.

The suspected shooter managed to evade capture by fleeing over a brick wall and remains at large. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The YPD is actively pursuing leads and continuing its investigation into the matter to determine the full extent of what transpired at the intersection.
