Shooting Investigation at Interstate 295: JSO Homicide Unit seeks information on fatal incident

Jacksonville, Florida – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Homicide Unit is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday night. According to the JSO, patrol officers responded to a call about a vehicle that had crashed off the road into a tree line at the interchange of Interstate 295 Northbound and Interstate 10 around 8:10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified male inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, where he was later pronounced dead.

Currently, the JSO Homicide Unit detectives, along with the Crime Scene Unit, are actively looking into the details of the shooting.
