Tulsa, Okla. — Authorities continue to investigate a shooting that claimed the life of a 37-year-old man on Saturday afternoon, stirring community concerns about violence in the area. Police were dispatched to the 4400 block of North Main Street around 1:17 p.m. where they discovered the victim unresponsive in the roadway.
Despite efforts by bystanders to render aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement. The circumstances surrounding the shooting have prompted a thorough investigation, as detectives seek to piece together the events leading to this tragic incident.
Following the shooting, officers identified a person of interest who subsequently turned himself in to the police. In response to these claims, the person of interest said he retrieved a firearm and shot the victim in self-defense.
