Shooting on Atlanta’s Cheshire Bridge Road Leaves One Dead, One Injured: Police Investigate Drug Deal Gone Wrong

Atlanta, Georgia – A shooting incident on Atlanta’s Cheshire Bridge Road resulted in one fatality and left another individual injured, prompting a police investigation.

The authorities confirmed that the shooting occurred in the early hours of the morning on the 1700 block of Cheshire Bridge Road near Windemere Drive. The location of the crime scene was identified as the former site of Rhodes Bakery, which ceased operations in 2021 after decades of serving the community.

Details revealed that one of the victims, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, managed to seek assistance from a passerby, who promptly contacted emergency services. The injured victim was promptly transported to Grady Memorial hospital and is anticipated to recover. Tragically, the second victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that the shooting may have originated from a drug-related transaction that escalated into violence, resulting in both parties shooting each other. Law enforcement officials have not made any arrests in connection to the incident at this time.

To facilitate the investigation, officers cordoned off a section of Cheshire Bridge Road to collect evidence at the scene, with normal traffic flow eventually resuming in the area.

Anyone with information relevant to the case is urged to contact the Atlanta Police Department to aid in the ongoing investigation.
