Shooting Spree Unfolds in Danville: Police Investigate Two Early Morning Incidents

Danville, Kentucky – The Danville Police Department is currently investigating two separate shootings that occurred early Sunday morning.

The first incident took place at a private club on Dillehay Street, where officers responded to a shots fired call just before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, evidence of a shooting was found, but no victim was present at the scene. It was later discovered that a 37-year-old man had been shot in the abdomen and was located on Mason Avenue. Fortunately, his injuries were deemed non-life threatening, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident less than an hour later, authorities were called to another shots fired report on North 5th Street. When they arrived, they found a pickup truck that had crashed into a yard, and a 43-year-old man inside with multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the second victim was driving along North 5th Street when he was attacked by multiple assailants who were situated on the side of the road. As the victim attempted to flee in reverse, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the yard.

At this time, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and both the Danville Police Department and the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office are lacking any information on potential suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to reach out to the Danville 911 Center’s non-emergency number at 859-238-1220 or to anonymously submit tips via text at 859-516-5566.

The community is left shaken by the violence that occurred in the normally peaceful town of Danville, with residents and officials alike hoping for swift justice in both cases. The incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in solving such crimes.
