According to initial findings from the Houston Police Department, the boy approached a home on Melborough Street, rang the doorbell, and fled the scene. Almost immediately, an individual from within the residence emerged and opened fire, striking the child in the back. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
In the aftermath, police apprehended a man for questioning on Saturday night but later released him. Investigators continued probing the situation and detained a potential suspect the next day, only for that individual to be released as well.
