Shooting Tragedy in Tulsa: Man Dies, Woman Injured in Domestic Incident Involving Son as Suspect

TULSA, Okla. — A shooting incident in South Tulsa on Thursday evening has left one man dead and a woman injured, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

Emergency personnel arrived at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of 62nd Street shortly after 7:30 p.m., following a 911 call from a woman who reported being shot in the back. Upon their arrival, they found both the woman and a man inside the residence, conscious and responsive. The two victims made it clear that the assailant was the adult son of the male victim.

The victims provided police with details about the suspect, including his name and a description of his clothing. They noted that he is homeless but often seen in the vicinity of 61st and Peoria avenues.

Witnesses contributed crucial information, as one bystander observed the suspect fleeing the scene on foot. Officers quickly saturated the area in search of the suspect. A police helicopter later located him hiding behind a fence in the 6300 block of South Peoria Avenue. He was taken into custody around 8 p.m., and officers recovered a handgun from the scene.

Despite receiving prompt medical attention, the male victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The woman is undergoing treatment, but her condition remains uncertain as investigations continue.
