HARVEY, La. — Authorities are probing a second deadly shooting that occurred in Jefferson Parish within a 24-hour timeframe. The latest incident took place around 9:20 a.m. in a residential area on Aberdeen Street, where the victim has been identified by family as 24-year-old Tupac Shakur Robinson.
Deputies arrived to find Robinson unresponsive inside a vehicle on Loch Lomond Drive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported that he seemed to have been shot while driving, resulting in his car crashing into several parked vehicles before coming to a halt.
The loss has left Robinson’s family in shock and mourning. They described him as a loving son and a hardworking individual who brought joy to those around him. Family members are now seeking justice and answers regarding the circumstances of his death, urging anyone with information to step forward. “We just want the person responsible to turn themselves in so our family can begin to heal,” a relative stated.
This tragic event follows another fatal shooting that took place shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday in Avondale, just blocks away from a Wendy’s restaurant on Highway 90. In this incident, a man was shot and killed, but authorities have not yet released his identity. A suspect, 25-year-old Semaj Brown of New Orleans, has been arrested in connection with that shooting.
Officials from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office have indicated that, at this time, there is no evidence to suggest that the two shootings are related. Investigators are actively pursuing leads to determine the motive and details surrounding both incidents. Local residents expressed their disbelief, noting that such violence is uncommon in their neighborhoods.
Both investigations are ongoing, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information on these incidents to contact the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Homicide Section at 504-364-5300 or reach out to Crime Stoppers. Community members are coming together, hoping for a resolution to the questions surrounding these tragic events and for a return to peace in their neighborhoods.
