Shooting Victim’s Mother’s Day Reward Reaches $10,000 in Broward Cold Case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Authorities in Broward have increased the reward to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect involved in a tragic Mother’s Day shooting in 2022. The incident resulted in the death of Dru’Niyyia Griffin, who passed away after battling for her life for two years following the shooting that left her paralyzed.

Griffin, a young woman, was found shot multiple times in a black Honda Accord in unincorporated Central Broward near Fort Lauderdale. Another victim, a man, was also shot but later treated and released from the hospital. The shooting occurred when the victims were inside a parked car outside a residence they were visiting.

Video footage released by authorities showed gunfire coming from a dark SUV passing by the victims’ vehicle. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has since turned the case over to homicide detectives who are actively investigating and seeking the public’s assistance in solving the crime.
