Sunset Park Home Invasion: Cops Nab One Suspect, Search for Another, in Violent Attack

Brooklyn, New York – Detectives in Brooklyn have captured one suspect and are currently on the hunt for another in connection with a violent home invasion that took place last week. The incident occurred during the early hours of February 2nd, 2024, at a residence located on the 700 block of 52nd Street in Sunset Park.

According to law enforcement sources, two assailants entered the home and confronted two men, ages 41 and 53. The suspects then brandished weapons and demanded money from the victims. Shortly after, one of the suspects, identified as Chaoxin Tan, 21, Tased the 53-year-old man, while the other suspect shot the 41-year-old man multiple times in the shoulder and leg.

After inflicting injuries on the victims, the suspects made off with over $4,100 in cash before fleeing the scene. Both victims were subsequently transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Police later apprehended Tan and charged him with attempted murder, three counts of robbery and assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. However, Tan’s alleged accomplice remains at large. He is described as a man with a light complexion, wearing a black bubble coat, black pants, and dark-colored sneakers.
