The Allegheny County dispatchers received a distress call at 4:02 p.m. on Saturday, leading police and medics to the 900 block of Third Street, near Third Street Park.
Upon arrival, authorities found a young boy who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the boy succumbed to his injuries. Lieutenant Nando Costa of the Allegheny County Police revealed that the shooter approached the group of teens at the park, firing shots as they sat at a table engaging in conversation.
Residents in the area expressed their distress over the ongoing gun violence plaguing their community, with one mother highlighting the frequency of such incidents, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further tragedies.
