Teen Suspect in Fatal Houston Farmers Market Shooting Turned in by Mother

Houston, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning at a Houston Farmers Market, where a 36-year-old employee, Damon Price, lost his life while trying to prevent the theft of a golf cart. Reports have revealed that the suspect behind the fatal shooting, a 14-year-old, was turned into authorities by his own mother.

The harrowing events took place on Airline Drive in the Greater Heights area. Surveillance footage captured the moment when Price confronted two suspects, who were attempting to steal a golf cart. A confrontation escalated into a fight, leading to one of the suspects firing multiple shots at Price, ultimately ending his life.

Authorities disclosed that Price was already on the ground when he was shot in the parking lot. The suspects fled the scene, leaving behind four shell casings. One of them was apprehended the next day and charged with capital murder. The 14-year-old suspect is currently being held at the Harris County Detention Center, awaiting his court appearance.

In a surprising turn of events, sources revealed that the suspect’s own mother accompanied him to the police station, where he turned himself in. Meanwhile, the second suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, is still at large. Family members of the victim expressed their devastation over the young age of the alleged perpetrator, emphasizing the need for accountability.

Price’s father, Leo Price Sr., mourned the loss of his son and emphasized the gravity of the situation. “This happened while he was doing his job,” he said. As investigations continue, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the case. The community is reeling from the tragedy, seeking justice for Price and closure for his grieving loved ones.
