Teenage Tragedy: 14-Year-Old Girl Killed, 5 Boys Injured in Buffalo Shooting Rampage

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A tragic incident unfolded in western New York late Saturday when a 14-year-old girl lost her life in a shooting, while five teenage boys suffered injuries as a result. The Buffalo Police Department responded to reports of the shooting near Alexander Place in Buffalo, just before 11:30 p.m. EDT.

The six victims, all teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16, were discovered wounded in a parking lot by officers. The girl was rushed to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. According to officials, a 15-year-old boy is in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center, while two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy are listed in stable condition. Additionally, a 16-year-old boy was grazed by gunfire but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The shooting took place near a location where a heinous racially motivated attack occurred in the past, adding to the gravity of the incident. Mayor Byron Brown expressed his grief during a news conference, emphasizing the tragic nature of the events that unfolded in the city.

Following the incident, authorities revealed that hundreds of teenagers were in the area for a large house party, which led to altercations and eventually the shooting. Police had received complaints about loud music and a subsequent fight before taking action to disperse the crowd. Buffalo police Chief of Detectives Craig Macy stated that the earlier altercation likely sparked the shooting that resulted in the tragic loss of life.

Residents in the vicinity expressed shock and concern over the events, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance and security measures in the area. Mayor Brown assured that law enforcement would intensify efforts to locate and apprehend those responsible for the senseless crime.
