Teenager Fatally Shot in Brawl at Brookland-Catholic University Metro Station

Washington, D.C. – Tragedy struck at the Brookland-Catholic University Metro Station in the 800 block of Monroe Street NE, leading to the untimely death of a teenager identified as Avion Evans during a fight. The incident, which involved gunfire, occurred on April 4 just before 4 p.m.

Upon the immediate response of law enforcement, Evans was found with multiple gunshot wounds and sadly pronounced dead at the station by DC Fire and EMS personnel. Police investigators have since released photos of the suspect, described as a Black man with light skin, dressed in a distinct outfit consisting of a black jacket, black hoodie, gray square backpack, a mask, light blue jeans, and black and white shoes.

In light of the shooting, the Brookland Station was temporarily closed for investigation, causing Red Line trains to operate in both directions while bypassing that particular stop. The Metropolitan Police Department has taken over the investigation as the suspect remains at large as of Friday, April 5.
