Thug Laughed While Slashing Female Cop in Chilling Attack: Bodycam Footage Captures Terrifying Moment

Glasgow, Scotland – A disturbing incident unfolded in Northampton, where Gordon Finnlayson, a 39-year-old thug from Neilston, Glasgow, launched a violent attack on two police officers. The brutal encounter, captured on the officer’s bodycam, showed Finnlayson wielding a Stanley knife and assaulting the officers after they responded to a report of an assault.

As the officers attempted to disarm Finnlayson, he aggressively knocked a female cop to the ground and proceeded to slash and stab at her while laughing. Backup officers arrived on the scene and Tasered Finnlayson three times before finally managing to restrain him.

Despite the harrowing ordeal, both officers managed to escape serious physical injury and were rushed to the hospital for evaluation. Finnlayson, with a history of 35 previous convictions, including assaults on police officers, was sentenced to six years in jail for two counts of attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Detective Inspector Nick Peters commended the courage displayed by the officers during the violent and sustained attack. He emphasized the unpredictable and dangerous nature of police work, highlighting the officers’ determination and bravery in protecting each other from harm.

In a show of transparency and to shed light on the severity of the incident, the body-worn video footage from the officers has been released. The video captures the intensity and fear brought on by Finnlayson’s violent actions that night. Peters expressed relief at the significant custodial sentence handed down, noting that justice had been served in ensuring a dangerous individual was held accountable for his actions.
