Tiger Attack Leaves Youth Injured in Pilibhit Village, Forest Officials Step in to Prevent Conflict

Pilibhit, India – A 25-year-old man named Pawan Singh found himself injured after an encounter with a tiger in the village of Reharia, situated near the Mohamadi forest range in the district of Kheri on Tuesday afternoon. The tiger had killed a bull the day before and was feeding on its carcass in a nearby field when the villagers tried to chase it away, resulting in Singh being attacked in the chaos. Singh was promptly taken to a local health center, where his condition was reported to be stable.

Upon assessing the situation, Divisional Forest Officer Sanjay Biswal deployed forest teams to monitor the tiger’s movements in order to prevent any further conflicts with the residents of the village. Biswal emphasized the importance of allowing the tiger to return safely to its natural habitat and condemned the aggressive behavior of the villagers, noting that such actions are illegal under the Wildlife Protection Act. He stated that once the tiger retreats to the wild, the department will take legal action against those who chased the animal, ensuring that such incidents are not repeated.
