Atlanta, Georgia — A police officer was fatally shot during a confrontation with a gunman near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday evening. Officer David Rose, 33, who served on the DeKalb County Police Department for just over a year, was responding to reports of gunfire when he was struck. Rose was a devoted husband and father, expecting a son in addition to his two daughters.
