Tragedy: Stray Bullet Claims Life of 66-Year-Old Fort Worth Woman in Her Home

Fort Worth, Texas — A 66-year-old woman was killed by a stray bullet that entered her home late Friday night, prompting local authorities to seek assistance in locating the shooter. The incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of random gunfire in residential neighborhoods.

Magdalene Mancho was struck by the bullet in what initially appeared to be a medical emergency. Emergency responders were alerted around 8:51 p.m. to the 3400 block of Tahiti Lane. Upon arrival, they believed she had experienced a fall inside her home.

However, complications arose when medical personnel at the hospital determined that her injuries stemmed from a gunshot wound rather than a fall. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after being admitted, as confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives investigating the incident suspect that the bullet originated from outside her residence. They are exploring a possible connection to an earlier report of gunfire in the vicinity, which was logged about an hour before the emergency call regarding Mancho.

In light of the incident, police are actively reviewing surveillance footage from the area and canvassing for potential witnesses. As of now, no suspects have been identified or taken into custody.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information related to the shooting. Individuals with details are urged to contact the Fort Worth Homicide Unit at 817-392-4330. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.

This tragic event underscores the dangers associated with indiscriminate gunfire, raising questions about safety in neighborhoods where such incidents occur. As investigators work diligently to bring those responsible to justice, the community remains on high alert.
