Lawrenceville, Georgia — A family tragedy unfolded early Friday morning, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including 43-year-old Meemu Dogra, an Indian national. The incident reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute that escalated within the family’s home.
Gwinnett County police have named Vijay Kumar, 51, of Atlanta, as the alleged shooter. Authorities claim he opened fire on his wife, Meemu Dogra, and three others: Gourav Kumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38. At the time of the shooting, three children were present in the residence. In a desperate attempt to escape the violence, the children hid in a closet, with one managing to call 911, which led to swift police response.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased adults inside the home, each with serious gunshot wounds. Vijay Kumar was taken into custody at the scene and now faces multiple charges, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children.
