Turnpike Tragedy: Mother and Daughter Fatally Shot, BSO Seeks Public Assistance

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) is seeking the assistance of the public in solving a tragic shooting incident that took the lives of a mother and her four-year-old daughter on the Turnpike.

The incident unfolded when the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to reports of a shooting near mile marker 49, just south of Hollywood Boulevard, on a Friday night. Upon arrival, FHP troopers discovered the mother and daughter inside a vehicle parked in the left breakdown lane, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics from Hollywood Fire Rescue rushed the mother to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. Tragically, the young daughter was pronounced dead at the scene, adding to the heartbreak of the situation.
