Fordyce, Arkansas – Nearly a week and a half after a tragic shooting left four dead and over a dozen injured in Fordyce, Governor Sarah Sanders made a poignant visit to the grieving community. Sanders spent time with emergency responders, members of the community, and honored the victims by laying flowers at a memorial.

The Governor’s visit began with a stop at Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she consoled the families of those affected by the senseless violence. Addressing reporters outside the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Sanders reflected on the resilience and unity displayed by the people of Fordyce during such a challenging time.

During her visit, Sanders expressed gratitude towards the law enforcement officers who bravely responded to the tragic incident. She emphasized the importance of their heroic actions in mitigating further harm and loss.

Following Governor Sanders, other officials also shared their support for the community of Fordyce. The Arkansas House of Representatives Speaker, Rep. Matthew Shepherd, highlighted the impact of the tragedy on all southern Arkansas communities, including his hometown of El Dorado.
