Venice Canals Attack Survivor Shares Harrowing Experience from Hospital Bed

Los Angeles, California – A woman recovering from a vicious attack in the Venice Canals area is bravely recounting her harrowing experience from her hospital bed. Mary Klein is currently recuperating from an assault on April 6 that left her face severely bruised and jaw wired shut. Klein described the attack, stating, “He tried to kill me. He knocked my two front teeth out.”

Klein was out for an evening walk, a routine after work, when she was suddenly knocked to the ground. She shared, “It feels like I got hit by a truck, but I really wasn’t there for it.” After losing consciousness, Klein went home, fell asleep, and returned to work the next day unaware of the severity of her injuries. She later discovered she had a severe head injury and a significant bleed.

Following Klein’s assault, another woman was attacked in the same area. Police in Los Angeles reported the arrest of 29-year-old Anthony Jones as the assailant. Authorities believe both attacks were random. City Councilwoman Traci Park expressed the community’s frustration with the incidents, emphasizing the need for safety for all residents and visitors in the city.

Despite her ordeal, Klein remains determined not to let the attack deter her from enjoying her walks. She expressed her resilience, stating, “We’re free spirits, that’s not going to change.” Klein also emphasized the importance of addressing violent criminals on the streets to ensure the safety of all individuals.

To help cover her medical expenses, Klein’s relatives have initiated an online fundraiser. The community has rallied around her, offering support and solidarity during her recovery. Klein’s courage in sharing her story highlights the resilience and determination of individuals in overcoming traumatic experiences.

As Klein continues on her path to recovery, the community remains vigilant in advocating for safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The support and strength shown towards Klein serve as a testament to the power of unity and compassion in the face of adversity.
