Violence Erupts at Gujarat Congress Office as Rahul Gandhi Condemns BJP’s Attack

NEW DELHI, India – Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP for what he called a “violent attack” on the Gujarat Congress headquarters in Ahmedabad. The clash between BJP and Congress workers occurred during a protest against remarks made by Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.

Gandhi, in a social media post in Hindi, condemned the attack and accused the BJP of failing to understand the basic principles of Hinduism. He expressed confidence in the people of Gujarat to see through the lies and hold the BJP government accountable.

The violent confrontation led to the detention of several workers and leaders from both parties, as stone pelting and clashes ensued outside the Congress office. While the BJP alleged that Congress workers initiated the violence, opposition leaders claimed BJP cadres were the aggressors.

Both parties reported injuries among their workers and intended to file complaints with the police. Videos from local TV channels showed the chaotic scene outside the Congress office as workers from both sides engaged in physical altercations.

Himmatsinh Patel, the Gujarat Congress working president, accused BJP workers of attacking the Congress office without permission from the police. He asserted that the incident highlighted the breakdown of law and order in Gujarat. Patel’s statements reflect the ongoing tensions between the BJP and Congress in the state.
