Violent Attack Video on LAPD YouTube Channel Restored After Suspension

LOS ANGELES, California – The Los Angeles Police Department Headquarters YouTube channel has been reinstated after a temporary suspension. The suspension occurred after the department posted a graphic video of a violent attack in Venice earlier in the week. The video showed two men violently attacking another man in the early hours of September 28 near the intersection of Speedway and Market Street in Venice. The video was posted in an effort to seek the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in the brutal attack.

The LAPD HQ posted a statement on Saturday, disclosing the temporary suspension of their YouTube channel. The post revealed that YouTube had removed the video and that the department had appealed the suspension, but their appeal had been denied. However, the police announced on Sunday that YouTube had reached out to them and had restored the LAPDHQ account. The video of the brutal attack had been removed, and the department’s scheduled public information and content were set to resume as usual.

The video, which was released on Thursday before the suspension, captured an argument between the victim and the two men which quickly turned violent. One of the men swung a pair of bolt cutters at the victim, who was fortunately able to deflect the blow. However, the victim was forced to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head by one of the assailants. After standing back up, the victim was chased by one of the men with the bolt cutters, resulting in him being knocked unconscious after being hit in the back of the head.

The victim suffered a significant head injury and was hospitalized following the attack. The LAPD has described the two attackers as males wearing specific attire and physical attributes. The department has urged anyone with information to contact investigators at a provided phone number.

This incident has sparked concern and attention regarding the safety of individuals in the Venice area, prompting a broader discussion about public safety and potential measures to prevent similar events from occurring in the future.
