Walmart Employee Involved in Fatal Shooting at Fayetteville Store

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. – A tragic incident unfolded in a Walmart store in Fayetteville, Georgia, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man and the injury of a 9-year-old girl on Friday night.

The shooting took place around 10 p.m. at a Walmart on Pavillion Parkway, according to reports. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered Antavius Holton, 19, and a 9-year-old girl with gunshot wounds.

The perpetrator, identified as Adrian Jelks, 19, was reported to be an employee of Walmart. Both Holton and the young girl were transported to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, Holton succumbed to his injuries, while the young girl remains in stable condition.

Officials revealed that the shooting was not a random act and was not classified as an active shooter situation. Authorities have reason to believe that Jelks fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later found abandoned.

As the investigation continues, efforts are underway to locate Jelks. Meanwhile, Sandra Romero-Nunez, 19, has been arrested on pending warrants related to the incident, although her exact involvement in the shooting remains unclear.
