Walmart Shooting Suspects Arrested in Frisco: Family of Victims Heartbroken

Frisco, Texas – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in a Walmart parking lot that left one person dead and another injured. Dung Doan, 62, was killed, and 20-year-old Army veteran Zachary Lowe was injured in the incident outside the Walmart on Preston Road on November 15, 2023.

Frisco police were able to identify the suspects, Jhirrell Harris and Stephanie Gayden, thanks to an anonymous tip from the public. Harris, 42, was charged with capital murder in Doan’s shooting, as well as aggravated robbery and aggravated assault of Lowe. He is currently held without bond and awaiting extradition to Collin County. Gayden, 37, also from Louisiana, faces a capital murder charge and has a bond set at $1,000,000.

Family members of the victims expressed heartbreak and devastation over the senseless violence inflicted on their loved ones. The Doan and Lowe families have been profoundly impacted by the tragic events that unfolded outside the Walmart that day.

Assistant Chief Darren Stevens of the Frisco Police Department described the acts of violence by Harris and Gayden as unimaginable tragedies. The families of Doan and Lowe continue to mourn the loss and grapple with the aftermath of the shooting.

According to reports, Lowe had encountered the shooter, believed to be Harris, who requested a cigarette before pulling out a gun and demanding money from the young man. The random and violent nature of the encounter has left lasting scars on both families.

Doan, who immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam in 2022 and was a father of two, tragically lost his life in the shooting. The community has rallied around the families to offer support and comfort during this difficult time.

As the investigation continues and the suspects face legal proceedings, the impact of the Walmart shooting reverberates through the Frisco community. The senseless loss of life serves as a stark reminder of the need for greater vigilance and safety measures to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
