Woman Arrested After Random Shooting Leaves One Dead at Las Vegas Apartment Complex

Las Vegas, Nevada – A shocking incident unfolded at an apartment complex in the west valley when a woman was arrested following a “random” shooting that claimed the life of a man, according to Las Vegas Metro police. The tragic event occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the 3600 block of South Fort Apache Road near Twain Avenue.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man in his 40s inside a carpet cleaning company van, near the entrance of the complex, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to administer medical aid, the man succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Eyewitnesses provided a suspect description to the police, indicating a man with facial and neck tattoos dressed in dark clothing and carrying bags. However, upon locating the suspect in a nearby neighborhood, law enforcement was surprised to find a woman in her 20s instead. The woman was promptly taken into custody by officers.

Preliminary investigations by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department revealed that the female suspect had been checking car doors inside the complex before the tragic shooting took place. It was reported that several individuals informed the apartment management, leading to maintenance workers being dispatched to locate and remove the suspect from the premises.

The unfortunate incident occurred while two men were inside a carpet cleaning company van parked at the complex for a cleaning service. The female suspect approached the van and proceeded to shoot the driver, without any prior interaction between the victim and the suspect, as stated by Las Vegas Metro Homicide Lt. Jason Johansson.

Authorities reassured that the investigation would continue into the night, with efforts to gather information from witnesses ongoing. The female suspect, who remains unidentified as of Tuesday night, was revealed to have a criminal record.

“This appears to be a random shooting of a completely innocent hardworking human being who was here at work and was shot and killed while doing their job,” remarked Johansson.
