Jones, born to an African-American father and an Asian mother, grew up in the greater San Francisco area. A former amateur wrestler, football player, and track and field athlete at Archbishop Riordan High School, Jones continued his wrestling journey at San Francisco State University, where he graduated with a broadcasting degree in 1995.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 270 pounds, Jones delved into the world of professional wrestling at Roland Alexander’s All Pro Wrestling school in 1997. His journey was captured in the documentary “Beyond the Mat,” where filmmaker Barry Blaustein showcased Jones and fellow wrestler Michael Modest in a tryout match for the WWF in September 1998.
Throughout his wrestling career, Jones made appearances in various promotions, including tours in Japan and wrestling for California-based promotions such as APW and XPW. Despite facing challenges in the industry, Jones remained dedicated to his craft and was ranked in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Top 500 multiple times.
