Zainab Jamil Attack: Five Suspects Arrested in Connection with Violent Incident

LAHORE, PAKISTAN – Law enforcement officials in Lahore, Pakistan, have made significant strides in their investigation into the violent attack on Zainab Jamil, a well-known model and salon owner in the city.

Recently, authorities successfully apprehended five individuals believed to be connected to the incident. SP Cantt Owais Shafiq revealed important details about the arrested suspects, shedding light on their roles in the attack.

Among the arrested individuals, Zia was identified as the provider of the motorcycle and weapons used in the assault. Additionally, the investigation pointed to Adeel, Zainab’s driver, as a key figure in the attack, as he allegedly informed her husband, Sardar Jamil, about her whereabouts, setting the stage for the ambush.

Prior to the attack, Zainab Jamil had publicly spoken about the abuse she endured in her marriage, bringing attention to the issues in her relationship.

SP Shafiq elaborated that Zia not only supplied the necessary equipment for the attack but also facilitated the shooters’ movements to and from the crime scene. The assailants, who came from Karachi, traveled to Lahore to carry out the assault and then returned by road.

Efforts to apprehend the shooters are escalating, with a police team en route to Karachi to secure their arrests. Meanwhile, Sardar Jamil, Zainab’s husband, is currently out on bail until the end of June. It has been revealed that he and Zia had significant financial dealings, totaling about Rs5.5 million, which may be linked to the motive behind the attack.

The couple’s marriage in 2017, Sardar Jamil’s second marriage, reportedly faced tensions related to Zainab’s career in the entertainment industry, potentially playing a role in the tragic incident. Authorities remain dedicated to bringing all responsible parties to justice as the search for the two shooters continues.
