Arrest Made: Gilbert Police Apprehend 17-Year-Old in Connection to Teen Assault Case

GILBERT, AZ – Following a violent attack in November 2022, the Gilbert Police Department announced the arrest of a 17-year-old in connection to the incident. The assault, which took place near Higley and Riggs roads, was not reported to the authorities until January 4, 2024. The suspect now faces charges of aggravated assault and has been referred to the Maricopa County Juvenile Court. This arrest marks the second one made in relation to the case, with 18-year-old Kyler Renner being apprehended earlier in January. Renner was also connected to a separate violent attack in a parking garage near Vaughn Avenue and Gilbert Road in December 2022. The case, which had gone inactive due to limited leads, was reactivated a year later with the receipt of video and photo evidence of the attack. Alongside Renner, 19-year-old Gage Garrison and another 17-year-old were also arrested, and all three suspects now face aggravated assault charges.
