Assailants sought by Edmonton police after brutal attack at Churchill LRT station

Edmonton, Canada – Edmonton police are on the lookout for six suspects involved in a violent assault at the Churchill LRT station last month. The incident occurred on Feb. 24 when a 64-year-old man was attacked, beaten, and robbed by a group of assailants at the ground-level platform of Churchill LRT station.

According to authorities, the victim was waiting for a train around 5:30 a.m. when he was approached by one man. A verbal exchange ensued, resulting in the man being knocked to the ground and violently assaulted by not only the initial attacker but also five others who joined in on the attack. The victim was robbed before the assailants fled the scene.

Emergency medical services promptly responded to the scene, treating the victim for serious but non-life-threatening injuries before transporting him to the hospital. One suspect has been identified as Travis Damian Houle, 35, who is facing charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Authorities are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the five remaining suspects, who were captured on video surveillance. Among the suspects, one was armed with pepper spray, another was seen riding a bicycle, and there was also a female in the group.
