Assault and Robbery Suspects at Churchill LRT in Edmonton Apprehended and Charged

Edmonton, Alberta – Two suspects have been apprehended in connection to a violent assault and robbery that took place at the Churchill LRT station as confirmed by the Edmonton Police Service. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 24, where a 64-year-old man was attacked by a male suspect on the ground-level platform before being joined by five other individuals who participated in the assault and subsequent robbery. The victim sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition following the incident.

Brady Rodney Desroches-Smith, 28, has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery in relation to the incident. Additionally, 35-year-old Travis Damian Houle faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a probation order. The police have also identified a third suspect, 21-year-old Markus Lee Gladue, who remains at large. Arrest warrants have been issued for Gladue on charges of aggravated assault, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, and robbery.

Despite efforts to locate Gladue, he remains elusive. Meanwhile, three other suspects involved in the attack have yet to be identified by authorities. Descriptions of the unidentified suspects have been released by the police in hopes that the public may assist in identifying them. According to EPS Const. Anton Golosov, the public’s cooperation in identifying the suspects is crucial to the investigation.

The first unidentified suspect is described as having a medium build and height, wearing specific clothing items and carrying a black backpack. The second unidentified suspect is a slim-built man between 30 and 40 years old, with unique attire and riding a light gray bicycle. The third unidentified suspect is described as a woman between 25 and 30 years old, with distinctive features and carrying a black and white blanket.
