Assault Investigation: Police Seek Help Identifying LRT Station Attackers

Edmonton, Alberta – Police in Edmonton, Alberta are on the lookout for multiple suspects involved in a violent assault at an LRT station last month. The incident occurred at Churchill Station on February 24th around 5:30 a.m. A 64-year-old man was waiting for a train when he was approached by a man with whom a brief verbal exchange took place. The man then proceeded to attack the victim, knocking him to the ground and violently assaulting him.

During the assault, five other individuals joined in and proceeded to rob the man before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. While two suspects have been taken into custody, a warrant has been issued for a third individual. Authorities are still working to identify three additional suspects involved in the assault.

In efforts to gather information and aid in the identification process, a photo of the three unknown suspects was released to the public. The suspects, described in detail, include two men and a woman who were captured on camera at the scene of the crime. In addition to the search for the unidentified suspects, warrants have been issued for Markus Lee Gladue, 21, on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and robbery.

Furthermore, Brady Rodney Descroches-Smith, 28, faces charges of aggravated assault and robbery in connection to the incident. Of note, Descroches-Smith was also wanted for first-degree murder by the Grande Prairie RCMP at the time of his arrest. Another individual, Travis Damian Houle, 35, has also been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a court order in relation to the assault at Churchill Station.
