SHEFFIELD, England – A mother received a harrowing plea for help from her teenage daughter, who was brutally attacked by a 21-year-old man armed with a metal pole on July 3, 2023. The attacker, identified as Cheyenne Sirvent, assaulted two teenage girls, ages 16 and 17, on Washington Road in Sheffield.
The 16-year-old victim suffered serious facial injuries and was knocked unconscious after being struck by Sirvent. Following this, he proceeded to assault the 17-year-old victim, inflicting facial injuries before chasing her down the street.
In a desperate plea for help, the 16-year-old victim called her mother, who then sought assistance from a passing motorist. The police and ambulance were alerted to the scene by the good Samaritan and arrived at the chaotic Washington Road just after 10:30pm.
Upon their arrival, officers found Sirvent in possession of a kitchen knife. Despite his concerns for his own safety, he showed no remorse for the injuries he had caused to the victims. Dog handlers and police officers were able to successfully detain Sirvent, and he later confessed to his actions.
After an exhaustive investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department, Sirvent was charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding. Following his guilty plea, Sirvent was sentenced to two years and two months in prison by the Sheffield Crown Court on February 2.
Detective Constable Ashleigh Doggett, the investigating officer, expressed satisfaction with the lengthy sentence, acknowledging the long-lasting impact of the brutal attack on the two young victims. She also emphasized the commitment to tackling violence against women and girls in all its forms to ensure the safety of the community.
