Attack at Osino Presby SHTS Results in Heavy Police Deployment and Possible School Shutdown

OSINO, Eastern Region – Osino Presby Senior High Technical students (SHTS) in the Eastern region are currently facing heavy police deployment after a violent attack that resulted in one fatality on Monday. The Fanteakwa South District Security Council (DISEC) has intervened to restore calm and order in the area and ensure the safety of residents. Additionally, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and DISEC are contemplating a temporary shutdown of the school to address the situation.

The incident stemmed from a clash between a student from Nsutam Senior High Technical School and some students from Osino SHS. The altercation resulted in the assault of the victim and the theft of his belongings and GHC10. As the situation escalated, the Public Relations Officer of Nsuapemso, Kwadwo Isaac, and a teacher attempted to address the issue at the OSSEC campus but were met with hostility from the irate students, leading to the destruction of their vehicle.

The deceased student’s body has been transported to the Police Hospital in Accra for further investigation. This unfortunate incident has prompted concerns about the safety and security of students in the region.
