Attempted Murder Charges Laid Against Wall Township Man After Brutal Attack on Girlfriend

Wall Township, New Jersey – A Wall Township man is facing charges of Attempted Murder after a violent attack on his girlfriend in an apartment complex parking lot. The incident unfolded on a Thursday morning, leading to the victim sustaining severe injuries. The Monmouth County Prosecutor announced the charges against the 24-year-old man, Alex J. Williams, including Attempted Murder, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

The assault took place at the Glen Oaks Apartment Complex, where officers from the Wall Township Police Department responded to reports of the attack. The presence of the victim’s child during the incident led to an additional charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The victim, who suffered multiple significant injuries, was swiftly transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Following an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Wall Township Police Department, it was revealed that Williams had used a machete to repeatedly assault the victim. Williams was arrested without resistance and is now in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution awaiting a detention hearing.

The hearing, scheduled for a later date, will take place in Monmouth County Superior Court. Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings of the Major Crimes Bureau is handling the case as the investigation into the incident continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the attack to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
