Houston, Texas – A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the tragic death of 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer over the weekend, as stated in court documents. Anthony Martin Landry, age 57, faces murder charges in relation to the fatal shooting.
Law enforcement officers responded to a distressing scene at a McDonald’s located near the Katy Freeway, where Limmer was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Limmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a thorough investigation by the Houston Police Department, it was revealed that Limmer had attempted to de-escalate a situation involving Landry, who was reportedly agitated over his order and demanded a refund. Witnesses reported that Landry was shouting racial slurs and appeared extremely agitated.
Court documents indicate that an altercation escalated outside the restaurant between Limmer and Landry, resulting in Limmer pushing Landry to the ground before re-entering the establishment. A chilling turn of events followed when Landry retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fatally shot the attorney before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pick-up truck.
It was the quick work of law enforcement that led to the identification and apprehension of Landry, with a witness positively identifying him as the shooter. Further details from court records revealed Landry had a pending case for assault against a family member from earlier this year and was therefore out on bond at the time of the incident.
Currently, Landry is being held without bond as he awaits his initial court appearance. The community continues to mourn the loss of Limmer, a dedicated attorney whose life was tragically cut short under unfathomable circumstances.
