Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Mallard Creek Apartments

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Authorities are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place in northeast Charlotte Tuesday night. The incident occurred at the Cortland Mallard Creek Apartments on Berkeley Hill Drive around 10:30 p.m., according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Based on initial investigations, it has been determined that the shooter was acquainted with the victim, and as a result, no suspects are being pursued at this time. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and it is uncertain whether the shooter will face charges.
