BOISE, Idaho – A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in Boise when Deputy Tobin Bolter was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop. The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the shooter as Dennis Mulqueen, a 65-year-old resident of Boise, who later died from a gunshot wound to the chest at Saint Alphonsus hospital. The shooting occurred near West Overland Road and North Raymond Street on April 20.
According to authorities, Mulqueen opened fire on Deputy Bolter before fleeing the scene. A witness to the incident immediately called 911, performed CPR on the deputy, and assisted in getting him to the hospital for treatment. Bolter tragically passed away the following morning.
