Detectives Intensify Hunt for Ninth Accomplice in Brutal Walsall Gang Attack

Walsall, England — Detectives are actively seeking a ninth suspect in connection with a violent gang assault that left multiple victims seriously injured. Eight individuals, all from Walsall, received prison sentences on June 20 for their roles in the brutal attack that unfolded last July. The assault involved a series of ambushes on the victims, who were targeted while in their vehicle.

The gang, armed with machetes, knives, and baseball bats, carried out the premeditated attack on Reedswood Lane around midnight on July 31. Reports indicate that the aggressors used a car to repeatedly strike at the victims’ vehicle before attempting to fire upon them at close range. The level of violence has been described as alarming and shocking by authorities.

Among those sentenced, Amar Shahzad, 37, and Hezar Iyaiz, 20, both received 17-year sentences. Other offenders were given varying sentences, with Mohammed Sajid, 38, and Kamran Moore, 22, each receiving 16 years. Shazad Mahmood, 34, and Khurum Sajad, 23, also received 17 and 16 years, respectively. Waheed Ayub, 28, was sentenced to 17 years, while Umar Saddique, 29, received a lighter sentence of two years for aiding in the crime.

Authorities have identified Amar Khan, 40, also known as Adam Barzini, as the remaining suspect. Khan fled the area during the investigation and is currently at large. Detective Inspector Francis Nock, who heads the inquiry, called on the public to assist in locating Khan, advising anyone who spots him to dial emergency services without approaching him.

The victims managed to drive themselves to Walsall Manor Hospital, where they were treated for severe injuries, including cuts and gunshot wounds. Many of the injuries resulted in life-altering consequences, with one individual requiring induced coma due to the extent of their condition.

Detective Nock emphasized the seriousness of the incident, stating, “This shocking display of violence involved armed weapons, leaving the victims with life-threatening injuries.” The total sentences for the eight convicted men amount to 118 years, which signals a strong stance against such violent behavior, according to law enforcement.

Officials are determined to curb gang-related violence in the region, insisting that such actions will not be tolerated. The community remains on alert as the search for the final suspect continues.
