FARRELL, Pa. – A tragic incident unfolded outside a Farrell Elks lodge, resulting in a fatal shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning. According to reports from local authorities, a verbal altercation escalated into violence, leading to the death of Lay-Onte D. Hammonds. The incident occurred at the Twin City Elks Lodge on Staunton Street.

Upon responding to the scene following a single gunshot report, a corporal from the Farrell Police Department discovered Hammonds with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Despite attempts from officers to save him, Hammonds succumbed to his injuries at UPMC Horizon.
