Chandragiri, Andhra Pradesh – The ongoing dispute between Chandragiri TDP MLA Pulivarthi Nani and his predecessor Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy of the YSR Congress Party reached new heights on Sunday. Reddy presented medical records challenging Nani’s claims of injuries sustained during an alleged ‘attack’ on his car as orchestrated.
Following the post-election turmoil in Chandragiri, Nani’s car was reportedly targeted while en route to inspect the strongroom storing EVMs. Nani asserted that YSRCP activists attempted to murder him, leading to severe injuries that required treatment at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS). Consequently, several police officials faced suspension for the unexpected attack.
In a conflicting stance, Bhaskar Reddy denied any YSRCP involvement in the assault and obtained medical documentation indicating Nani’s condition as ‘normal’ during his time at SVIMS. The escalating situation culminated in back-to-back press conferences, with Reddy accusing Nani of staging the incident for sympathy.
Responding to the allegations, Nani and his spouse, Pulivarthi Sudha Reddy, refuted Reddy’s claims during separate press appearances. Nani accused Reddy of attempting to downplay a potentially fatal attack, while Reddy objected to his son and YSRCP candidate Chevireddy Mohith Reddy being implicated in the violence.
The dispute continues to escalate, with both parties steadfast in their accusations towards each other. Despite the conflicting narratives, the community in Chandragiri remains divided as the feud between Nani and Reddy shows no signs of abating.
