BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Authorities are actively investigating a homicide that unfolded late Saturday evening, marking yet another instance of violence in the city. Officers from the Birmingham Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 1800 block of Henry Crumpton Drive around 11:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found 31-year-old Jeremiah Stone lying unresponsive in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel declared him dead at the scene, prompting an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Further developments revealed a second male victim had been shot and was located in the 2500 block of John Bryan Road. This individual was promptly transported to UAB Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary investigations suggest that both victims were traveling in a vehicle in the vicinity of Henry Crumpton Drive when an unidentified assailant opened fire on them.
