Intruders Armed with Baseball Bat Kidnap Woman in Old Saybrook Home Invasion

Old Saybrook, CT – Authorities reported a harrowing home invasion incident in Old Saybrook, where two individuals were attacked and a woman was kidnapped on Friday morning. Randolph Tucker, 53, and Kimberlee Tucker, 53, were identified as the suspects and have since been arrested and charged with various offenses, including home invasion, carrying a deadly weapon, assault, and reckless endangerment. The pair appeared in court in Middletown and posted bail.

The unsettling event transpired around 8:30 a.m. on Friday at a residence on Beaver Dam Trail, as two intruders armed with a baseball bat forced their way in. Engaging in physical altercations with the homeowners, the suspects allegedly abducted the woman and fled the scene, leaving the victims injured. Promptly, Westport police apprehended the suspects by 10 a.m., rescuing the kidnapped woman who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Old Saybrook police reports, the victims were struck with an aluminum bat during the intrusion. The court documents revealed the homeowners’ struggle to prevent the kidnapping, with one victim recounting a physical altercation at the front door. Despite the woman’s claim that her abduction was not intentional, the legal proceedings have led to the judge imposing protective orders and restricting contact between the victims and the Tuckers.

Initially, the Tuckers’ bonds were set at $500,000 each, which were later reduced to $200,000 following a successful appeal by their legal representation. Assurances from the authorities categorized the incident as isolated, reassuring the community of their safety. As the investigation continues, residents remain vigilant and wary of potential threats in the area, emphasizing the need for increased security measures in the neighborhood.
