Jailed: Man Head Butts Partner After Shop Argument

Mold, Wales – A man in Mold, Wales has been sentenced to 25 months in prison after assaulting his partner during an argument over money. Tecwyn Woodward admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentionally strangling his partner in November 2022. The violent altercation left the victim with a black eye and a bleeding lip after Woodward headbutted her in the face at their home in Cwrt Pinwydd, Leeswood.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Woodward’s partner confronted him about his spending habits, leading to a physical altercation. Following the assault, the victim sought help from the authorities, revealing that it was not the first time she had been a victim of abuse during their relationship. Woodward, who was a wanted individual, was eventually apprehended by police on New Year’s Day the following year.

Police praised the victim for her courage in coming forward and emphasized a zero-tolerance approach towards domestic violence. PC Sarah Pawley highlighted the importance of seeking support from law enforcement or support agencies for those experiencing domestic abuse. Authorities urged individuals to report any instances of violence, emphasizing their commitment to thoroughly investigate each case.

In response to incidents of violence against women and girls, North Wales Police initiated Operation Unite to address and combat such offenses. The operation aims to provide a supportive network for individuals affected by domestic abuse and violence.
