Abilene, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded at a local supermarket in Abilene, Texas when police shot and killed a man allegedly armed with a bladed weapon. This marks the second fatality in an Abilene Police Department shooting in less than 10 days, raising concerns within the community. According to reports, the man had been threatening employees and customers at the United Supermarket on North Willis Street, demanding money from the register.
Around 2 p.m., law enforcement received a distress call from the store, prompting a swift response to the situation. It was reported that the man had left the store, but officers found him outside still in possession of the weapon. Despite multiple attempts to get him to surrender, including the deployment of a Taser which proved ineffective, the officers were forced to ultimately open fire in the parking lot. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace.
